Now used as a medical centre for the Jorvik Medical Practice this building used to be a public house run by Cameron's brewery. The pub was known as The Woolpack hence the name of Woolpack House. For some reason Cameron's beer was not well liked in York although the Strongarm beer was popular with those that drank it most of the Bitter was undrinkable as it was not well kept by most pubs.

Thank you for inclusion in the Around The World guide. CDPB was the source of my inspiration when I came across the Singapore Daily Photo site I thought I could do that for York. However, I was not sure that I could manage to post every day. So far I have only missed a few days here and there.
Well I only discovered you after Ruby started her York DP and I noticed either a link on her sidebar or maybe it was a comment you made on her site which I followed up.
Whether you join the CDPB or not is up to you but there plenty of precedents for more than one blog from the same city - Cheltenham for example.
come to think of it there are several Singapore DPs - was it Zannie or Keropokman who inspired you?
Ackworth Born,
Life is never that simple that only one influenced me. The Keropok man ( prawn crackers man) was one, also Images of Singapore and another photographer under the name Laokokok all provided inspiration for me to start Images of York. My link with Singapore is having lived there between 1957 and 1959 as a youngster and visiting from time to time since 1989 including very short spells of working in Malaysia and spending a day there before catching my flight back to Europe. Another inspiration to do a blog was another Singapore blog called "Good Morning Yesterday". I did several articles for the blog run by Lam Chun See who has since become a close friend. After writing the articles I was hooked on the idea of blogging and needed a vehicle and liked the idea of a daily photo blog. I was not convinced that I could do a posting everyday but just over a year on I have managed to do most days with only a few misses. As a striver for perfection I did not feel I had yet met the mark to become a city daily photo blogger.
