Lift up your eyes 17

This junction of Stonegate with Petergate always strikes me as a one with pleasant proportions. Notice how nothing is perfectly straight and fits around the shape of the timber. Maybe modern day builders have something to learn from the aesthetics of these buildings. There is a band around the pilar in the foreground which reads ANNO DO 1646.

Festival of Angels - Ice Carvings



Swinegate and Little Stonegate were humming with activity over the weekend with the Festival of Angels. Numerous ice carvings were on display which seemed to fascinate the young children who could not resist touching them. There were also numerous food stalls giving the area a very lively continental feel.

Oscar's Wine Bar - Little Stonegate

After a couple of days of hoary frost painting everything white, just a little reminder of sunnier summer days with these hanging baskets of pelargoniums outside Oscar's Wine Bar in Little Stonegate.
