This junction of Stonegate with Petergate always strikes me as a one with pleasant proportions. Notice how nothing is perfectly straight and fits around the shape of the timber. Maybe modern day builders have something to learn from the aesthetics of these buildings. There is a band around the pilar in the foreground which reads ANNO DO 1646.

The pavements of Minster Passage glisten in the rain; viewing York Minster from the junction of Stonegate and Petergate.
