The Punch Bowl in Stonegate ranks amongst the most picturesque with the wonderful display of flower baskets and the intricate carving on timber facing on the building. Like a lot of public houses nowadays it does a good range of food in addition to a good range of beers.

I like the Punchbowl. I used to go there quite a bit in my York student days - when I could drag myself out of Heslington!
