Looking very 1960ish now with a forbidding concrete box-like facade the hardness of Derwent College is softened a little by the water and fountains. In the background is the softer featured Heslington Hall which acts as the administration building for the university.

YAY! My college! I had an upstairs room on the other side of the building in my first year.
I met Mr Ruby at university. I remember one night I waited and waited for him and he didn't show up. When he finally arrived, he was with his mate and a bit worse for wear, having called at most of the campus bars on his way across, but with an armful of flowers as compensation. I then realised that the flowers were geraniums, had roots attached, and were dropping soil all over the carpet.
One of the flower beds outside Heslington Hall was ...erm, unfortunately a bit empty for the rest of the season.
