I have waited for months to get an oppurtunity to photograph this door without a vehicle parked in front of it or them being open. St. Michael Le Belfrey stands in the shadow of York Minster but is an interesting church in its own right despite it being ignored by most visitors who are making their way to the Minster.

Worth the wait to get the pic! My mum goes to this church. The congregation refer to it fondly as "St Mike's" !
Hi Ruby,
we call it "bats in the" or "bats" for short. Went to a Christmas service there once, they do the introduce yourself tot he person next to you thing and the chap next to me says "hello John" I hadn't recognised him as I was used to seeing him in his working whites.
