Lords of Misrule - Richard III

You often bump into unusually attired people in York centre, these young ladies were handing out leaflets for the Lords of Misrule production Richard III. The leaflet describes the play as a black comedy, might prove interesting. Shown below is the handbill they were handing out.

Buskers in St. Helen's Square

There is generally a very high standard of entertainment from buskers in York. These two were no exception to this playing some very interesting jazz trumpet numbers despite the drizzly rain.

Continental Market Parliament Street

From time to time there is a Continental Market held in Parliament Street with stalls offering all manner of items continental like Greek and Spanish food, German Beer, Indian Curry to name but a few. A sdhower of rain was keeping these plants healthy. For details of the various specialist and event markets see the City of York Council website.

Fossgate Army and Navy Store

This is a wonderful store which still has an old fashioned atmosphere to it with a floor that slopes downhill. It is a great place to shop for walking and camping gear with friendly and helpful staff, I much prefer it to Black's or Millets with their ultra modern layouts.
